Ping Proxies Rebranding, Feature Updates & Future

Since our founding in 2020, a lot has changed. What began as a one-man operation, born from a University of Leeds Enterprise Scholarship, has grown into a comprehensive proxy solution provider which has served over 25,000 customers across various industries. Today we've decided to implement a new visual identity which helps better represent our current business and ambitions.

Our Growth

In our early days, we exclusively catered to the sneaker resell market, building a strong foundation and deep understanding of proxy needs in a niche but demanding sector. That niche saw its demise in 2022 and we found ourselves in a pinch, needing to reinvent our business and attract new customers, or die - we chose the former. Today, we proudly serve SMEs and developers across all sectors, supporting diverse use cases from gathering information for AI training to enabling web scraping for business intelligence.

Our expansion hasn't just been in our client base. We've significantly grown our product stack, now operating our own Static Residential ISP Proxy infrastructure in four countries, providing B2B Reseller services to several other proxy providers and partnering with industry stakeholders to offer access to an ethically sourced residential network with over 30 million monthly active peers.

As we reflect on our journey from niche player to industry-wide solution provider, we've come to feel that our business and future ambitions, have outgrown our current brand - it no longer fully captures who we are and where we're headed. That's why today, we're excited to announce a comprehensive rebranding of Ping Proxies. This new identity reflects our evolution and sets the stage for our next chapter.

New Features & Upgrades

We felt that a superficial rebrand wouldn't quite cut it and as such, have paired our new visual overhaul with a huge suite of new feature announcements, upgrades and general improvements to our services. These changes aren't just cosmetic - they represent a fundamental shift in how we operate and serve our clients.

Over the past four years, I've personally answered over 15,000 customer tickets. This direct engagement with our users has provided invaluable insights into pain points with our services and the wider proxy industry. These customer challenges, and wishes, have directly influenced the features and changes we're introducing today.

When comparing our previous technology to the challenges we wanted to overcome, we saw that it wasn't fit for purpose and made the bold decision to rebuild our systems from the ground up. We've adopted an API-first approach and overhauled our entire tech stack, including our database, API, website, dashboard, CMS, hosting, and logging infrastructure. Perhaps most excitingly, we've developed our own Rust-based proxy solution, moving away from the industry-standard Squid Cache. This allows us to significantly improve performance, handle more connections, and apply optimizations and routing logic at the edge more easily.

  • Never-Expiring Residential Bandwidth: Use your purchased bandwidth on your own schedule, without fear of expiration
  • Public & Reselling API: Launching in the coming weeks, opening up new possibilities for integration and business models
  • Significant Price Cuts: We're reducing residential bandwidth pricing by up to 40%
  • Improved Observability: Every request is now logged and displayed on your dashboard through our analytics panel in seconds
  • New Authentication System: We now support multiple proxy users with IAM, bandwidth limiting, IP Authentication and per-user analytics
  • Expanded Payment Options: We're introducing new payment methods, including Coingate, in the coming weeks
  • Credit System: A flexible new way to manage your subscriptions - particularly helpful for our customers who prefer to pay by ACH or cryptocurrency
  • Improved Invoicing System: Streamlined and easier billing management - no need to open a ticket around tax season, instead just download all your invoices via the dashboard
  • Notification System: Stay informed about important account and service updates

The Future

This is just the beginning. We have plans to add even more features and improvements to production every single week. To keep our users informed and engaged, we'll be providing product updates and detailed run-downs every quarter.
